Here’s Every Video Game Deadpool Has Been In

The Merc with a Mouth is always ready for action.

Deadpool has become known as one of the craziest characters in the entire Marvel Universe. First introduced in 1991, his popularity has surged over the years, making him a fan favorite. With his own movie releasing, Deadpool’s unique brand of humor and fourth wall awareness will get him more attention than ever. He definitely has a history in video games already, with appearances in 15 different Marvel games.

Deadpool’s first appearance in games was the sequel to an X-Men beat-em-up. He was an unlockable character, complete with his usual biting wit. He was voiced by John Kassir at this point and not Nolan North.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (2006)

Deadpool was again featured in another Marvel beat-em-up. Ultimate Alliance compiled a dream team of heroes for you to choose from, each with their own sets of abilities and strengths.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)

Deadpool, Xmen, Wolverine, games

While the Wolverine game was significantly better than its movie counterpart, unfortunately Deadpool’s character remained the same. Featured as an endgame boss, the Merc with a Mouth for some reason had his mouth sealed shut. There are some segments where you hear dialogue from the mercenary Wade Wilson, but the game’s version is just as much of a disappointment for the character.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 (2009)

Deadpool joins the dream team in Ultimate Alliance 2 again, after a boss battle with him. The character’s fourth wall breaking antics play a role, with him even having a scene in the credits where he complains about not being the star.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (2010)

The character in Shattered Dimensions is actually Ultimate Deadpool. This version of the character actually has a much darker tone, with less emphasis on crazy antics. But the popular sarcastic insane version of Deadpool won out, as the Shattered Dimensions version fell more in line with the original.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (2011)

Deadpool, games, Marvel vs. capcom, fighitng

Deadpool is featured as one of the main fighters in the third iteration of the crossover fighting series. There’s a lot of fun nods to Marvel history and the character here. There’s a rivalry built between him and Dante from Devil May Cry, plenty of talk about Chimichangas, and even a Shoryuken move for the merc.

Marvel Super Hero Squad Online (2011)

Super Hero Squad has a decidedly more cutesy look than the usual Deadpool outing, but he still retains a bit of his usual humor. He is a playable character in the online game, but of course his crude mature humor is toned way down to match the younger audience.

Marvel: Avengers Alliance (2012)

Deadpool, Marvel, Avengers alliance, games

Avenger Alliance is a bit of an obscure game. It started as a Facebook game in 2012, and eventually hit iOS later on. You play as a S.H.I.E.L.D agent compiling a team of heroes to fight super villains. Deadpool was one of the unlockable heroes that could be used in the game’s turn-based battles.

LittleBigPlanet (2013, costume release)

The popular user creation game LittleBigPlanet was packed with tons of costumes and items from other series ranging all over entertainment. A Marvel pack was released as DLC, with one of the costumes equipping your adorable Sackboy with iconic red jumpsuit of Marvel’s favorite antihero.

Marvel Heroes (2013)

Deadpool, Marvel Heroes, Games

Marvel Heroes is another game that features a gigantic cast of playable characters. It has elements of an MMO mixed with an action RPG, and it’s also free to play. Doctor Doom is cast as the main villain, and Deadpool is one of many playable characters in the game.

Deadpool (2013)

In 2013, Deadpool finally got his time in the spotlight. High Moon Studios finally gave the merc his very own game, and it’s full of all the fourth wall breaking dirty humor you could possibly want from Deadpool. Nolan North reprised his role, giving the character a great amount of personality.

Deadpool’s gameplay was a bit lacking , but if witty one liners and self aware humor is what you want. Look no further than this game.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes (2013)

Deadpool has appeared in many versions of himself. Sackboy, chibi versions, and – you guessed it – LEGO Deadpool. The Marvel game added some new mechanics into the LEGO formula, with its usual huge selection of characters.

Deadpool is a powerful character in the game, and comes equipped with both katanas and guns. Nolan North once again lends his talents to help give the character personality.

Marvel Pinball (2014, Table Release)

deadpool, marvel, games, pinball

Zen Studios even got in on the Deadpool action by giving him his very own table in Marvel Pinball. It should be no surprise that this table has things like him playing his own pinball table in the game, and quick remarks from him remarking on quick time events. There’s really nothing quite like this character.

Marvel Puzzle Quest (2013)

deadpool, marvel, games, puzzle quest

The fourth puzzle quest game starred the characters of the Marvel franchise. You assemble a team of heroes, and the colored tiles correspond to attacks from each hero. Deadpool is one of the heroes featured and even has his own limited storyline.

Here he attacks other heroes and villains in a quest to obtain a new substance called Iso-8, and of course chimichangas.

Marvel Contest of Champions(2014)

deadpool, marvel, games, contest of champions

Contest of Champions is a mobile fighting game that has you tapping away to execute attacks. It’s another free-to-play mobile game that gives players a few heroes to begin with, but provides more than 50 others for them to unlock. Deadpool and his shenanigans are fully featured here.

How do you feel about Deadpool? Have you enjoyed some of his appearances in games, and would you like to see more of the character in the future?
