The Binding of Isaac has been rejected from the Apple App Store, a surprise to those who didn’t know the game was ready to go mobile in the first place.
Tyrone Rodriguez, developer and producer on the game, shared an image of The Binding of Isaac’s rejection notice, which cited violence against or abuse of children as the reason for denial.

The original Binding of Isaac released in 2011 as a procedurally generated roguelike with a dark, religious theme. BoI was later remade and released as The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth in 2014, this being the version submitted for App Store approval.
The game’s cryptic endings are still widely debated, though the child abuse is a bit more clear-cut with the game’s young protagonist facing physical threats from his mother and a variety of enemies.
The game’s creator, Edmund McMillen, had this to say on the matter:
Would fighting dr fetus count as violence towards children ?

It’s unknown wether the team will be challenging the decision, but we’ll keep you updated.
