The Xbox One exclusive Scalebound has been moved back to a 2017 release window, Platinum Games have announced on their blog.
The early decision to delay is due to the team needing more time to create their vision, knowing that the fans are expecting a lot from the game. With the game including multiplayer, large battles, and a lot of exploration, it isn’t surprising to hear that Scalebound won’t be out in 2016.
Platinum Games add that they will be showing more of the game through the year, and are looking forward to fans being able to see the world that Scalebound is set in. It’s fairly likely that the game will have a part in Microsoft’s E3 conference again, although they could decide to show more before then.
This is the first Xbox exclusive title that Platinum Games have created, with the Japanese team best known for the Bayonetta series, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and The Wonderful 101. They are also currently working on Star Fox Zero for the WiiU, as well as Nier: Automata.
