Following a slew of exciting announcements including details on Cloud, new fighter announcements Corrin and Bayonetta, and new amiibo confirmation, Nintendo closed out their final Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U presentation with some fun statistics regarding the games.
First up, when you take all DLC fighters into account there are 58 playable characters in total. This does not include alternate versions of characters, such as Villager, Robin, and Corrin, who all allow you to play their female counterparts, and Bowser Jr., whose 7 alternate costumes are the 7 Koopalings.
Then when you add up all the stages from both the Wii U and 3DS version, there are 84 diverse locales in which to brawl and melee to your heart’s content. Again, this isn’t taking into account the fact that every stage also comes with a Final Destination version of each and every stage.
The customizable Mii Fighters have been a big hit with fans looking to recreate their favorite character that didn’t make the cut, and in total there are 99 Mii Fighter costumes and 97 hats to play dress-up with.
If collectibles are a big deal to you, you’ve got your work cut out for you in these games. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS features 707 trophies, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U contains 743. That’s a lot of trophies.
Finally, in what could be the greatest soundtrack of all time, there are a total of 507 music tracks between both games, discounting victory jingles and assorted sound effects. From original classics to remixes and medleys, this is truly a soundtrack chock full of some of the industries best works.
Those are some pretty impressive figures, no? If you haven’t picked up Super Smash Bros. yet, surely some of these numbers have given you more reason than ever to remedy that.
