Details of the special editions for Dark Souls III in both North America and Europe have been announced and there are quite a few.
The news comes along with the Dark Souls III trailer which announced that the game would release on April 12th 2016. With that news and the special editions you will be able to preorder, fans will be starting to get even more excited. Thanks to Gematsu for the details.
Day One Edition (North America)
The Day One Edition in North America is similar to what you will be able to expect from the standard edition of the game, except for a few additions. The game comes in an exclusive sleeve, a starter guide to help you at the beginning of your playthrough, and the official soundtrack in physical form. It’s said that this edition will cost $59.99, which sounds like a great price with the included extras.
Collector’s Edition (North America and Europe)
The Collectors Edition is available in both North America and Europe, and is said to cost $129.99. Included is everything from the Day One Edition as well as a cloth game map, a 10″ statue, and an art book. The art book shown in both the image above and the Collector’s Edition for Europe look slightly different with the Europe version also detailed as an A4 hardcover. It would make more sense for them to have the same content however.
The special editions for Europe were also announced. With the mid-tier Collector’s Edition detailed above, here are the other two editions that will be available.
Apocalypse Edition (Europe)
The Apocalypse Edition is very similar to the Day One Edition that North America will be getting, although it looks like it won’t include the starter guide from Prima. However it does include a fancy looking metal case for the game and the soundtrack.
Prestige Edition (Europe)
The Collector’s Edition is mentioned as costing $129.99, roughly £86 currently, so this Prestige Edition that includes an extra Lord of Cinder Resin Figurine will be the most expensive out of them all.
