ARK: Survival Evolved on Xbox One Is Surprising Even Its Own Developers

On the official Xbox Wire blog, Studio Wildcard Co-Founder Jesse Rapczack listed some of the achievements and surprises of bringing their action-survival game ARK: Survival Evolved to the Xbox One.

With the game playable for the first time on Xbox One this month through the Xbox Game Preview Program, ARK: Survival Evolved already has a plentiful player base according to Rapczack.

In under a week of its release the game was downloaded over 1,000,000 times and players have already logged in over 200,000 days into the title — not too shabby.

ARK: Survival Evolved was first playable on PC through the Steam Early Access program in June of this year. With Steam Early Access and the Xbox Game Preview Program, consumers can pay for a game in the early stages of development and still play the title as it progresses towards its final release.

In the blog, Rapczack also states that even with the PC’s version having a head start of a couple months, the daily player base of the Xbox One version is already higher.

Since the game is still being worked on, more features are on the way. The developers are currently working on split screen support, controller customization, UI updates, and more creatures. One of the first creatures to be released is the precious, yet ferocious Kangaroo-like Proloptodon:

ARK: Survival Evolved will officially release in June 2016, on Xbox One, PC, Playstation 4, OS X and Linux.
