Next week kicks off the month of December, which means new free games for PlayStation Plus! Here’s what we got, straight from the PlayStation Blog.

PlayStation 4 players will be Gauntlet: Ultimate Slayer Edition and King’s Quest Chapter I: A Knight to Remember. Gauntlet is a hack-and-slash dungeon crawler that offers players the chance to play as one of four races of hero solo or with three extra friends. Dungeons are procedurally generated and contain plenty of loot and action for you to go through with your friends. King’s Quest, on the other hand, is a reimagining of the classic point and click franchise. Chapter one is currently the only chapter out right now, with a second chapter planned for December or early next year.

For PS3 owners, you’ll be getting Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, a standalone entry in Ubisoft’s jungle themed open world series. Instead of playing a random dude on an island forced to become a killer, you play Cyber Commando Rex Powercolt in a throwback to old 80s action films and games. The other game will be EA’s SSX, a 2012 revival of their PS2-era snowboarding series.

Vita owners PlayStation Plus samplings for December will be Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken and Freedom Wars. Rocketbirds is a platformer that puts you in the shoes of a chicken assigned to kill the evil Penguin dictator Putzki to free the people of Albatropolis. You can play the game solo or in co-op, where Chicken is assigned to rescue and bring back the general’s daughter. Freedom Wars puts you in the far future as a human who builds their own city-state called a Panopticon to fight others in the game’s world.

These PlayStation Plus games will go up next Tuesday, December 1, so don’t forget to download this month’s samplings while you still can. Excited by this month’s stuff? Let us know in the comments below.
