Nintendo’s latest Direct kicked off on-point with lots of information on The Legend of Zelda franchise. First and foremost, the new Wii U Zelda game was confirmed to be progressing well, and is still on track for an unspecified release date in 2016.
The bigger news right now was the confirmation of the recently rumored Twilight Princess HD remaster for Wii U, following in the footsteps of 2013’s Wind Waker HD. The remaster is available for pre-order today, and will release exclusively on the Wii U Mar. 4, 2016.
Alongside Twilight Princess HD will also be the awesome Wolf Link amiibo, which will have functionality with the upcoming new Zelda game for Wii U as well. The Legend of Zelda amiibo currently available for Super Smash Bros. – Link, Toon Link, Zelda, Sheik, and Ganondorf – will all be compatible with the game as well, though in what capacity is still to be revealed.
Finally, the Direct also touched on the most recent Zelda title, Tri-Force Heroes, which launched recently for Nintendo 3DS. New ensembles are coming including Linebeck’s Uniform and the Fierce Deity Armor, which each come with their own unique abilities. There’s also the new Den of Trials challenge, which comes packed with 30+ stages to try fighting your way through. These updates are free, and will be available from Dec. 2.
