Devolver Digital is bringing Croteam’s philosophical first-person puzzle game — The Talos Principle — to PlayStation 4 in a complete Deluxe Edition later this year. This Deluxe Edition will include both the game and the new Road to Gehenna DLC expansion pack. It will be released as a digital download on PSN as well as a physical retail box edition thanks to Nighthawk Interactive in North and South America and Bandai Namco in Europe. Both the physical and digital releases of The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition will be available on October 13.
The Talos Principle was developed by Serious Sam creators, Croteam, and released on PC in December 2014. It is a first-person puzzle game where players play an unnamed sentient android trapped in a mysterious facility riddled with puzzles and guided by a disembodied voice from on high named Elohim. While the game starts out as a simple puzzle game, it slowly evolves into a complex narrative examination of self-identity, the concept of humanity, artificial intelligence, and the existence of a higher power. The Talos Principle was met with many positive reviews and recently released its expansion pack, Road to Gehenna, which will be included in the Deluxe Edition.
If you have yet to experience The Talos Principle, the Deluxe Edition would be a welcome addition to anyone with a PS4 who loves philosophy, words, and puzzles. Look out for The Talos Principle: Deluxe Edition later this year.
