Anime Expo 2015 certainly seems to be a great place for gaming announcements. Along with Aksys revealing Zero Escape Volume 3, Bandai Namco Games have gone ahead and announced the North American and European localizations for Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth.
Western fans started an online petition last year to get the localization approved, and Bandai Namco actually acknowledged the petition’s existence in a meaningful way. While they did not confirm that a successful petition would lead to the game making the jump overseas, they did promise that a conversation would be started within the company if it reached 50,000 signatures.
Indeed, that petition surpassed the 50,000 signatures requested by Bandai Namco, and at the time of this writing sits at a comfy 65,237. While Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth is just one of the Digimon games requesting localization in the petition, its success in coming over is certainly encouraging for future titles getting the same treatment.
Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth launched for the PlayStation 4 and Vita in Japan back in March, and will be coming to the same systems in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Brazil in 2016. Check out some sleek 1080p screenshots from the western release to see what you have to look forward to.
