20 Pieces of Video Game Gear We’d Want to Have in Real Life (To Rule Over Humanity With)
Yes, it may just be a giant robot when you get right down to it, but as far as game weapons go, it’s definitely not like the others. With Titanfall 2, the mechanical beings have six different classes that you can choose from. One can grab bullets and rockets in midair and throw them back, another has a giant-ass sword. Some of them can even run on walls alongside you! Who wouldn’t want that?
The long sought after rocket launcher in Bungie’s shared world shooter is nothing short of awesome. Not only does it have an ever-reliable lock-on, but it can also split into clusters when they’re detonated for extra damage.
There’s no weapon more iconic for the Kingdom Hearts series than that Keyblade. Does it look ridiculous? Totally. But is it still awesome to swing around? Hell to the yes. It’s so awesome that it’s also a Key AND a Sword! It unlocks people’s deaths!
The long sought after rocket launcher in Bungie’s shared world shooter is nothing short of awesome. Not only does it have an ever reliable lock-on, but it can also split into clusters when they’re detonated for extra damage. No wonder it keeps coming back year after year. The Elites are some of the best enemies to fight in Halo, and that means that they need weapons worthy of their status. The Energy Sword is such a weapon, enabling some of the most satisfying kills in both single and multiplayer if you’ve got it in your hands. If you’re on the receiving end, well…hope you’ve got a plasma grenade or shotgun on hand.
There aren’t quite as many diverse game weapons as Ratchet and Clank’s, with some of the best of them being the RYNO. In that universe, it’s the equivalent of a tactical nuclear strike, whether that means turning your enemies to ash like in Up Your Arsenal or the 2016 remake playing a version of the 1812 Overture as you hold the trigger.

Titan (Titanfall)
Yes, it may just be a giant robot when you get right down to it, but as far as game weapons go, it's definitely not like the others. With Titanfall 2, the mechanical beings have six different classes that you can choose from. One can grab bullets and rockets in midair and throw them back, another has a giant-ass sword. Some of them can even run on walls alongside you! Who wouldn't want that?
Gjallarhorn (Destiny)
The long sought after rocket launcher in Bungie's shared world shooter is nothing short of awesome. Not only does it have an ever-reliable lock-on, but it can also split into clusters when they're detonated for extra damage.
Keyblade (Kingdom Hearts)
There's no weapon more iconic for the Kingdom Hearts series than that Keyblade. Does it look ridiculous? Totally. But is it still awesome to swing around? Hell to the yes.
RYNO (Ratchet & Clank)
Few games have quite as diverse a range of weapons as Ratchet and Clank, with one of the best of them being the RYNO. In that universe, it's the equivalent of a tactical nuclear strike, whether that means turning your enemies to ash like in Up Your Arsenal, or the 2016 remake playing a version of the 1812 Overture as you hold the trigger.
Arm Cannon (Metroid)
There are iconic game weapons, and then there are ones like Samus Aran's arm cannon. Firing it makes you feel like a badass, and there's nothing quite like nailing an enemy with a charge beam.
Blue Shell (Mario Kart)
Let's be clear here: if you use the Blue Shell during the third lap and the race is almost over, you're a complete and utter monster. That being said... yeah, it's really great to use it and ruin your friend's day.
Biotic Rifle (Overwatch)
Ana Amari is one of the best snipers in the world of Overwatch, and her rifle has helped her achieve that title. Even though it's experimental, it's still a nifty piece of tech. It kills her enemies, and provides health to her allies. Certainly not something you see every day.
Wabbajack (Skyrim)
A Daedric artifact from Sheogorath, Wabbajack is a bit of a wild card. You never know what effect you're going to get with it when you put it in your hands. It could make your target a mudcrab or freeze them solid, who knows! That's dangerous, but also kinda fun, ain't it?
Mr. Toots (Red Faction: Armageddon)
Look at this thing. Look at this stupidly funny thing and its weird face. It's a shame that you don't get the weapon sooner in the game, because those rainbows and stars added some much-needed color to Volition's title.
Saw Cleaver (Bloodborne)
Fighting gross monsters means you'll need a powerful weapon, and in that regard, the Saw Cleaver delivers. With a mighty swing or two (plus some well timed evasions), you can defeat any beast that comes your way, like a boss.
Dubstep Gun (Saints Row 4)
It's a dubstep gun. Does anything else need to be said? It serves as a powerful heavy weapon, along with a boombox that'll get everyone to bust a move once they hear the track start. Totally worth it.
Vigors (BioShock)
Superpowers are deadly, but giving them to a guy like Booker DeWitt makes him even more of a threat. Whether he's lighting people on fire or summoning crows to kill his enemies, Vigors definitely make a good case for why you should never drink colorful liquids out of weird containers. Plus, they don't drive you towards mental instability like Plasmids, so that's a bonus.
The Darkness
A supernatural weapon that causes evil black tentacles to pop out of your back? Yeah, that's pretty cool and deadly. They're kind of adorable... y'know, if you're into creepy red eyes and razor sharp teeth.
Lightsaber (Star Wars)
C'mon, it's a lightsaber. What more needs to be said of this iconic and purely awesome laser sword? More importantly, who wouldn't want to own one of these?
Energy Sword (Halo)
The Elites are some of the best enemies to fight in Halo, and that means that they need weapons worthy of their status. The Energy Sword is such a weapon, enabling some of the most satisfying kills in both single and multiplayer if you've got it in your hands. If you're on the receiving end, well... hope you've got a plasma grenade or shotgun on hand.
Gravity Gun (Half-Life)
It may be just a little bit more gadget than weapon, but that doesn't lessen its impact. There's an impish fun in picking something, attracting it towards you, and shooting it at anything you don't like. That's probably not what Aperture had in mind when they first made it, but who cares? You're killing your enemies with science!
Buster Sword (Final Fantasy)
Comically oversized it may be, but damn if it isn't effective. Your arms have to be incredibly strong to lift and swing it around, and it does a ton of damage. Kudos to all those cosplayers who build replicas of this, because it definitely couldn't have been easy.
Blades of Chaos (God of War)
Kratos has had many weapons in each game of God of War, but none are as effective or satisfying to use as the chainblades that are the Blades of Chaos. Given to him by Ares in a moment of desperation, they give the brute soldier-turned-deity a balletic approach to his murdering. It's hard to imagine the next game without them.
BFG (Doom)
You know what they say, power is everything. And nothing screams 'power' like something called the Big Fucking Gun. Shooting 80 plasma shots at once or a single plasma glob striking out any bad guys in your line of sight makes for a lot of bodies on the floor once its business is done, and it more than lives up to its name.
Lancer (Gears of War)
A chainsaw attached to the gun. It sounds incredibly stupid when you hear about it, but Gears of War makes it work and has helped turn it into one of the most iconic weapons in gaming.
