How to Beat Jacob Seed Easily in Far Cry 5
Jacob Seed runs the very northern section of Far Cry 5’s Hope County known as Whitetail Mountains. Not only is this guy in charge of protecting Eden’s Gate, due to his military background, he also experiments with pretty weird, mind state-altering stuff that we’re not going to go into here. If you’ve raised the Resistance enough to confront him in Whitetail Mountains, though, here’s what you’ll need to beat him.
Before going any further, we’re going to make some weapon suggestions for your fight with Jacob Seed. Make sure you have a sniper in one of your weapon slots, and ideally an assault rifle like the AR-C. An RPG is always handy, too, but not necessary if you’re a good enough shot with your sniper.
Jacob Seed’s boss fight in Far Cry 5 starts out with you running the little gauntlet of sorts that you’ve done in your three encounters with him prior to this one. Run through this, making sure to keep an eye on the timer and going for headshots if you find it’s running a little low. Once you reach the end, something happens that we’re not going to spoil and a cutscene will play.
You’ll then find yourself outside with four quest markers highlighting the locations of beacons that need to be destroyed. Here, we used our AR-C to clear the enemies that stood in our way, and then used remote explosives to blow up the beacons with ease.
This is where the proper boss fight against Jacob Seed begins in Far Cry 5. Now in a more… ‘normal’ outdoors environment, you’ll find yourself at the foot of a mountain with a ton of enemies firing down on you. There’s one enemy at the top with a sniper and that’s Jacob Seed, so we advise sitting behind a rock or any cover you can grab and pick off the normal cultists on the mountain first.
Continue to move up the mountain whenever it’s safe for you to do so. When you’ve got a good line of sight on Jacob Seed at the top of the mountain, get out your sniper and go for the headshot. If you land it, he’ll go down and can be revived. If you can, land another shot on him while he’s like this and he’ll be taken care of. If not, wait for him to get back up and line up that headshot again. Soon enough, he’ll drop and you’ll have cleared another of the Seed siblings in Far Cry 5.
