Is Far Cry 5 Cross Platform?
The newest entry in the Far Cry series is now out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, taking players to the rolling hills of Hope County, Montana. Just in case you were wondering, while Montana is real, Hope County, unfortunately, isn’t. There are a few interesting changes that come to the series like creating your very own character, and a new intel system that does away with towers, letting you gather information from characters instead. Of course, a big highlight of Far Cry 5 is being able to play the entire game in co-op with a buddy. Now, you’re probably wondering if that co-op play is limited to the console you’re on, or if there’s some kind of cross-platform play.
Unfortunately, Far Cry 5 isn’t cross-platform, and you’ll need to go through each system’s respective network to play multiplayer. Keep in mind too that co-op is only online, and there isn’t any kind of split-screen in the game. There’s no word on if Far Cry 5 could ever feature cross-platform play, but if something does happen it seems most likely that it’d be Xbox One and PC.
