How to Change Difficulty Settings in Far Cry 5

Recommended Videos

Far Cry 5 is the latest installment in Ubisoft’s open world first-person shooter series. For the most part, you’ll be traveling across Hope County while liberating outposts, engaging in shootouts when your stealthy efforts fail, and freeing the town from the control of the Seed family. However, if you’d like to adjust the difficulty setting, you can absolutely do that within the game itself.

From the options menu, choose Gameplay, then use the d-pad to choose between Easy, Normal, and Hard settings. On higher difficulties, you’ll take more damage from enemies, and that’s the only difference between the difficulty settings. From the looks of the trophy and achievement lists, it also looks like none of them are tied to game difficulty, so you can lower it without worrying too much about that.

On the other hand, if you want a tougher challenge in Far Cry 5, the Hard setting should suit your needs. You can change the game’s difficulty setting any time you want, so feel free to mess around with it whenever you run into trouble and need some help getting past an obstacle.
