Nintendo Switch Online Services Officially Launches This September

It's finally coming.

Nintendo, Switch, cost, streaming

The Nintendo Switch will be getting its full online services later this year, according to a recent tweet by the company. Since launch, players have been able to test out the console’s multiplayer features for free. It seems like Nintendo will finally be putting a price on their services, having previously revealed the 3,000 Yen (or roughly $26 USD) annual rate.

To sweeten the deal, their online service will also come with a free NES or SNES game each month. Players will need to subscribe to the service once it launches this September if they want to continue using the various online multiplayer features for Nintendo Switch games like Mario Kart 8, ARMS, and Splatoon 2.

While they haven’t share any new information with the official announcement, it’s likely that they will reveal more details in the near future, including the free game that comes with the service. That said, hopefully, the online service will help pave the way for more Nintendo Switch features, such as Virtual Console or streaming apps.
