Developer DICE and publisher EA have released their newest patch for Star Wars Battlefront II today, introducing content from the upcoming eighth episode in the Star Wars film franchise, titled The Last Jedi, for fans to enjoy.
The update will take up 10 GB of free space and bring new maps, vehicles, heroes, and a story mission to the game. Additionally, Finn and Captain Phasma from the newest trilogy of Star Wars films will join the title’s roster of heroes for use in multiplayer. They won’t cost any credits as long as users log in during “The Last Jedi season,” which presumably takes place around the release of the film.
The two new maps are Crait and D’Qar, the former of which can be played in Galactic Assault and the latter in Starfighter Assault. This update’s new story mission is an epilogue that takes place after the events of the main game. Titled Resurrection, it sees the return of Iden Versio for three more chapters and while it doesn’t spoil the events of The Last Jedi, it should be played after the title’s campaign for full understanding.
Balancing has been improved, notably among the game’s roster of heroes, and Tallie Lintra’s RZ-2 A-wing and an upgrade for Poe Dameron’s X-wing have also been introduced. As in most patches, today’s also brings with it a variety of fixes to glitches and audio problems.
Star Wars Battlefront II is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
