In an interview with the Japanese website 4gamer, Motohiro Eshiro, a producer at Capcom, has assured fans that there will be some sort of Ace Attorney presence in 2018. Though whether this is an announcement or the release of a new game is too early to say for certain.
While he didn’t go into too much detail, Eshiro did say “I believe we’ll continue working on something that will make Ace Attorney series fans happy, we’re also currently coming up with a new title, so personally speaking I think it’ll be a challenging year.” This comes not long after another tease from Capcom’s chief operating officer suggesting that a new Ace Attorney game was slated for the Switch at some point after April, 2018.
The Ace Attorney series has been a staple handheld series in Capcom’s expansive roster of IPs and a Switch game would tread new ground for the series. With all these hints and teases it’s likely more news on the title will come later, but for now it’s enough to get some fans excited to go back to solving court cases with everyone’s favorite defense attorney.
