Splitscreen Multiplayer & Co-Op in CoD WW2

Recommended Videos

The Call of Duty games are best experienced with a friend or two, and CoD WW2 is no different. As always, the multiplayer offerings will allow you to match up with friends and strangers online, but if you want to enjoy local play, that’s possible as well. However, there are some limitations to doing so.

For starters, the story campaign does not seem to support any multiplayer functionality. This is done so that the player can be immersed in the game’s storyline and not be distracted by other players. The other multiplayer modes are a different story. Both multiplayer and Nazi Zombies modes will allow you to enjoy splitscreen co-op with another player by connecting a controller to your system. All you have to do is choose the ‘Local Play’ option from the game’s main menu to start this up. That said, it appears that the game only allows up to two players to enjoy the splitscreen feature. After pairing up two controllers to the game, we were not allowed to pair up any additional ones, which means that the game only supports two-player splitscreen co-op.

When in the multiplayer menu, right before selecting the Public Match option, you can also connect a controller and press X on to bring a player into the game via splitscreen. This ensures you will be able to play online, but also with a friend.
