Skip Cutscenes in NBA 2K18

Recommended Videos

Entering the practice gym, signing an endorsement contract, and finishing an NBA match in MyCareer mode usually prompts a three to ten minute cutscene in NBA 2K18. This can be annoying for some gamers who simply want to play and improve their MyPlayer. Mashing buttons on your controller won’t skip the cutscene as there’s no way to skip these long animations and dialogue normally. For those desperate to skip cutscenes, you can use a simple workaround if you have other friends online playing NBA 2K18.

After each NBA match, a few match stats will appear on the screen while DJ and company slowly walk towards their locker room. Aside from this lengthy animation, there’s a big chance you’ll encounter a cutscene with either security guy, Boo Boo, and teammate Shammy Wells fooling around or your character having an interview. To skip these cutscenes, simply bring up the party menu on your console and join a friend who’s playing NBA 2K18. Doing this brings you to The Neighborhood, essentially skipping the cutscene.

Before skipping cutscenes, make sure you let the game finish auto-saving to ensure your progress is recorded. Additionally, to ensure you earn your VC rewards, only skip the cutscene once the gold coin VC icon appears on the lower right side of the screen.

Sadly, there’s no workaround to skip the other cutscenes in MyCareer and The Neighborhood, which is understandable considering the developers likely want players to witness all the labors of their effort in creating dialogue and animations.
