At Gamescom 2017, Ubisoft has revealed the extended gameplay walkthrough of Far Cry 5 that it showed press behind closed doors at E3 earlier this year.
In the walkthrough, we’re given a tour of Holland Valley, a small section of Hope County’s wider map. The footage showcases a huge amount of variety in gameplay, from taking down enemies with our trusty dog companion to aerial combat in engaging dogfights. We get to see the dynamic between player and doggie companion, Boomer, showing off his ability to distract and warn off predators. Later, taking to the skies, the scale of Hope County can be seen, which the developer’s state is the largest map ever featured in a Far Cry game.
Unsurprisingly, the demo is packed with all the chaotic emergent gameplay you’d expect from Far Cry, but there is also a presentation of side activities such as fishing. Apparently now you can now kick back, relax and take in the scenery lakeside in between mercilessly murdering cultists. Well, why not?
