As Hideo Kojima said it would be, Death Stranding was absent from E3 last week as the team continues to work on the title. All we have seen since its reveal is a couple of teaser trailers and some concept art, but thankfully, Sony’s Shawn Layden has confirmed that the game is coming along nicely and that he has even played it himself.
However, although he may have played some form of demo for it, he is still unable to explain what exactly it is. In an interview with The Telegraph, he said, “I have actually played some of it… It’s been aided tremendously after Kojima-San decided to co-opt the Decima [graphics] engine from Guerrilla…” when he was asked about the status of Death Stranding. He then said, “I couldn’t explain to you what the game is,” suggesting that the game is still as obscure as you might expect.
He did confirm, however, that Kojima’s game is set to be something unique. When asked if it is as revolutionary as Kojima-San is promising, Layden replied, “all that and more!”
Hopefully the public will see more from Death Stranding in the coming months, alongside some news on a potential release window. Keep an eye on Twinfinite for any news on that.
