Don’t Worry, the Controllers for the SNES Classic Are Longer Than the NES Ones

We get a whole five feet this time around!

SNES Classic Edition

Today, post-E3, Nintendo announced that the SNES Classic edition is coming to retailers on Sept. 29. The classic edition will come pre-loaded with 21 games, including the never-before-seen Star Fox 2, which was a Super Nintendo game that was cancelled 22 years ago.

One of the big problems with the NES Classic that released late last year, was that the cable length for the classic controller was way too short. Players had to either compensate for the short length by purchasing an extra long HDMI cord, or by just placing the miniature system close them. Two things that the SNES Classic Edition has over the NES Classic is, one, the fact that the controller cables are two feet longer, and two, the SNES comes with two classic controllers, for out-of-the-box multiplayer.

With five-foot controller cords, and 21 (somewhat) amazing SNES titles, fans are surely going to be pre-ordering this miniature console like crazed creatures. Looking to pre-order? Check out our handy-dandy guide right here.
