Fighting the Thermal Phantom in Prey

Recommended Videos

The Thermal Phantom is one of the many types of Typhon monstrosities you’ll face in Prey. The monster looks like a tall, fiery alien, and it can be quite deadly if you’re ill-equipped for an encounter with it.

First off, the Thermal Phantom is immune to fire, but it is susceptible to psychic damage. This means that you can deal damage to it with weapons like the Q-Beam or the Kinetic Blast Typhon ability. If you have the GLOO Cannon, but no other weapons that can deal reliable damage to it, the Cannon can still help to slow it down for you to make your escape. By spraying it with GLOO, you can slow down the monster, and then either run away or line it up for a shot with the Q-Beam. You can also use other normal weapons like the Shotgun, but you’ll probably end up wasting quite a bit of ammo to kill it, at least on Normal difficulty. Don’t try to hit it with melee weapons like the Wrench, or you’ll have a pretty bad time.

Alternatively, you can always try to sneak around it.

That’s all you need to know to beat the Thermal Phantom in Prey. Be sure to check our wiki for more tips, tricks, and information on Prey.
