Zelda Breath of the Wild: Is There Weapon Crafting?

Make your own gear from scratch.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Weapon Crafting

Recommended Videos

In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, there’s a pretty nasty weapon degradation system that can cause your equipment to break after a single combat encounter. This means that players will have to actively look out for new weapons, and be careful with their own durability. It also means that you really shouldn’t get too attached to your gear. With that in mind, you might be wondering if there’s some sort of crafting system that would allow you to create your own weapons to carry around.

The short answer is no. While there are certain NPCs in Hyrule who can craft and recreate certain weapons that you’ve broken, you can’t actually make your own weapon from scratch. For example, the Zora blacksmith in Zora’s Domain will recreate the Lightscale Trident and Ceremonial Trident if you break them, provided that you have the necessary materials for him. Outside of that, there’s no way to ‘repair’ or craft new weapons for yourself, unfortunately. Always pick up new weapons as you come across them in Hyrule.
