The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Getting a Bow and Arrows

Recommended Videos

If you’re not a fan of close ranged combat in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, you can pick off your enemies with a bow from afar instead. However, Link doesn’t start the game with any weapons on his person, so you’ll have to look for them yourself.

When night starts to fall in Hyrule, skeleton enemies will start rising from the ground to attack you. These skeletons actually drop a variety of weapons including arms and spears. Every so often, you’ll also come across a skeleton enemy type armed with a bow. If you defeat him, he’ll drop his bow and you can pick it up, along with any arrows you might have already found. Simply bring up your inventory menu with the + button and go over the the Bows and Arrows tab. You’ll have to manually equip the bow here before you can use it out in the field. You can equip one shield, one melee weapon, and one ranged weapon at any point in time.
