How to Climb Walls – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Recommended Videos

New in Breath of the Wild is Link’s ability to climb up walls, as well as any other surface that looks climbable, really. You would do well to make use of his climbing ability if you want to see everything Hyrule has to offer, and to discover its best hidden secrets.

To climb a wall, simply approach the surface and move towards it until Link grabs hold of it. You can then use the left analog stick to start moving him up the wall. However, do keep an eye out for your stamina bar. The stamina is indicated by a circular meter next to Link filled with green. As you climb, Link’s stamina will deplete. If you let the bar deplete all the way, Link will fall from the wall he was climbing. Depending on how high up he was, you might take quite a bit of damage to your health bar, so you’ll want to be careful with that. When you want to climb downwards, press the A button to start the downward climb.
