How to Melee Attack in Mass Effect Andromeda

Recommended Videos

If you ever run out of ammo in Mass Effect Andromeda (and I sure hope you don’t), you’ll have to rely on your flashy Omni-tool to get yourself out of any sticky situation. The Omni-tool is the only piece of equipment that will allow you to perform a melee attack.

To use a melee attack on enemy attack, simply tap the Y button (or triangle if you’re on PS4) to perform a stab. However, the one drawback is that your range with the Omni-tool is pretty short, so you’ll need to be close to an enemy in order for the attack to connect. It’s best to use the melee attack on enemies with no ranged capabilities, like animals for instance. Running towards an enemy that can shoot at you from a distance is generally not a good idea. Another thing to note is that the melee attack can only be used when you have your weapon drawn, even if you’re not using it at the time.
