It’s a video game urban myth that Mario’s full name is Mario Mario (it’s false, by the way), but Shigeru Miyamoto has said that Legend of Zelda protagonist Link’s surname is, and insert a drumroll here…exactly the same as his first name.
Yup, Link Link is the Hero of Time’s full name. (Try saying his name five times fast.) To take a page from the Wind Waker version of our hero, this is our face right now.
Legendary game developer Shigeru Miyamoto made the revelation during a Game Informer interview, where he and Breath of the Wild producer Eiji Aonuma answered 51 rapid-fire questions (spoiler: most of them were silly).
