Publisher Versus Evil and Twitch are currently running a promotion for the upcoming Banner Saga 3. Starting today, Twitch Prime users can download the first Banner Saga for free until the 28th, while the sequel will be available from Mar. 2-6. As always, free games from Twitch Prime will have to run through Twitch’s own game launcher, similar to Steam.
Twitch will also be donating $1 toward Banner Saga 3’s development, for every person that plays the game with a cap at $200,000. While Banner Saga has risen in popularity, it is still an indie title so every bit of money definitely helps. While funding has been completed, the money from Twitch will be used to better certain aspects of the game. In addition, Twitch Prime users who download the two games will get exclusive content for Banner Saga 3.
Banner Saga is a turn-based strategy game where decision making affects the outcome of the story (think Fire Emblem crossed with Telltale). Twitch Prime is an Amazon Prime benefit and comes free of charge with a subscription to Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime is offering a 30 day free trial, for anyone that would like to check out either service.
