Resident Evil 7: How to Open Locked Containers and Drawers

Locked Containers and Drawers – Resident Evil 7

Recommended Videos

If you’ve already started playing Resident Evil 7, you’ve probably noticed the general scarcity of ammo and other items that can help you along your grueling escape from the Baker estate. While there are bits and pieces lying around the house and its grounds for you to simply pick up, you may have also noticed a number of locked containers or drawers.

Now, what the game doesn’t tell you is that these don’t actually have their own keys in the game that you can find. Instead, Ethan will need to pick these with a lockpick. Unfortunately, lockpicks themselves are pretty scarce in Resident Evil 7, so you’ll need to pick and choose which containers or drawers you open at the start of the game, at least.

If you’ve yet to find a lockpick, head back to the laundry room in the main house and search for a red container on a shelf. Examine it and you’ll be able to open it if you look at the side, rewarding you a lockpick. To use the lockpick, simply interact with a locked drawer or container and select the lockpick from your inventory. You don’t have to do anything for it to be successful, and after a moment you’re free to take your rewards.

That’s all there is to opening locked containers and drawers in Resident Evil 7. For more tips, tricks, and information on Resident Evil 7, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
