Resident Evil 7: How to Get All Three Dog Heads

How to Get All Three Dog Heads – Resident Evil 7

Recommended Videos

One of your first major tasks when jumping into Resident Evil 7 is to find all three dog heads. No, these aren’t real dog heads, but metal pieces of a mechanism to open the door to outside and the rest of the estate. Of course, with this being a Resident Evil game, you can bet your bottom dollar that all three dog heads are going to require a bit of exploration and a couple of scares along the way, too.

To get the first of the three dog heads, head over to the clock in the main room with the Cerberus door, and interact with it. You’ll take the pendant out of the clock and add it to your inventory. With this now acquired, we need to head all of the way back towards the kitchen where you woke up to the dinner with the Bakers. Keep going through here and into the living room to find a clock very similar to the one from the other room. Interact with this clock and use the pendant that’s now in your inventory with it. The pendant will move and be replaced with one of the three dog heads you’re looking for.

For the second of the three dog heads, we need to return to the main room with the Cerberus door and make our way upstairs. You’ll have two doors here, but you can only enter the one on the left for now. Go through the door and take the left route, heading into the first room you can on the right. You’ll now be in an entertainment room. On your left, you’ll find a rather large book you can interact with. Look at the side of the book so you can see the page and press X (or A) to open it and find the second of the three dog heads inside.

Before going downstairs with two of the three dog heads you need, take a right as you exit out of the door you came in. A little further down there’s another door leading to a bathroom. Make your way over to the bathtub filled with some horrible black gunk and interact with the end of the bath. This will drain it and leave you with a strange puzzle piece. No, it’s not the last of the three dog heads we’re looking for, but it’ll take us where we need to go. As you pick it up, watch out for a surprise attack from Jack. Use the bath to get some space between yourself and Jack, before sprinting out of the door and back downstairs to the main room.

Here, you want to head into the corner where there’s a light and a painting. This is a shadow puzzle, and you’ll need to use the puzzle piece to line it up with the picture. Voila! The door is open and we can continue on our adventure. All you need to do for a while is simply follow the only way you can through the house. Take down the enemy and in the safe room by the stairs, you’ll find a note saying one of the dog heads is in the dissection room downstairs. Make your way down the ominous staircase and follow the path around. There are Molders down here, so make sure you’re prepared for an ambush around every corner. You’re looking for a white door around here. When you see it, head on in and you’ll find yourself in a room with a bunch of body drawers on the left wall. There’s a puzzle to solve here, which will be hinted at by the note in this room. Alternatively, you can just check our guide instead. With the dissection room key in your possession, head on out the same door you came in from.

The next room has a few Molders in it, so aim for the head and take your time lining up shots to save your ammo. Head through the next door, grab the supplies and make your way through the big brown doors. The last of the three dog heads is in this room. Make your way up the stairs to the right and walk all the way around. You’ll find the last of the three dog heads attached to a chain hovering over a weird arena. You can see where this is going. Check out our guide for the butcher room boss battle for tips on how to take down Father Jack.

After the battle, make your way back to the main room with all three dog heads in your possession. Walk over to the door and put all three dogs heads into the door. You’re finally free from the house.

That’s all there is to finding the three dog heads you need to get out of the main house in Resident Evil 7. For more tips, tricks, and information on Resident Evil 7, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki guide.
