Pokemon Sun & Moon: Where to Get a Fire Stone

Pokemon Sun and Moon will ask plenty of you without fully explaining what you need. It’s the magic of the game, really, you’ll find new things if you just set out and explore. For example, did you know that only certain Pokemon can evolve by being exposed to a Fire Stone? Of course you did, that’s probably why you’re here!

In order to get the Fire Stone, which will allow you to evolve a variety of fire-based Pokemon, you will need to progress through the story for a bit. Get to the second island, Akala Island, and you will be that much closer to this stone.

Follow the story enough to make it to Route 9, and head to where the Diglett Tunnel is. It’s in here that you’ll find your Fire Stone, so be on the lookout for that drop, and you will be that much closer to that dream Arcanine or Flareon. And if you don’t want to go through the trouble right now, you can always buy it from Olivia’s Shop in KoniKoni City. But the soonest you can get it is within the second island.

Here is a list of the Pokemon that the Fire Stone affects:

  • Eevee evolves into Flareon
  • Growlithe evolves into Arcanine
  • Pansear evolves into Simisear
  • Vulpix evolves into Nintetails

A Bit More on the Fire Stone

This has been around since the very beginning. The evolution stones have always been the only way to get your Pokemon evolved to their highest form. They have, many times in the past, just been found around the lay of the land. But nonetheless, they have always been highly sought after, especially when one has an Eevee or a Growlithe they really want to evolve.
