Get Challenges Done Early and Pass Exams
If you head to the lower left-hand corner of Conton City, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2’s hub world, you will find a High School where you can practice different in-game techniques and take exams to rank up your Time Patroller. Those practice sessions are called challenges, and each one gives a small bit of experience. Later in the game, the amount of experience you get from them is laughable, so you may as well get them done early on to get a quick dose of Experience.
Most of them are fairly easy, and even the ones that are a bit more challenging tell you exactly how to do them, so it’s really just a matter of patience. It will feel like a chore for a while, but, if it makes you feel better, completing these helps to unlock exams and that’s where you’ll see your first large helpings of experience.
Complete Mentor Quests
Mentor quests in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 are a way to earn some powerful new abilities for your created characters. Each iconic mentor – which range from heroes such as Krillin to villains like Frieza – will teach you their signature moves over the course of four simple quests. These alone are reason enough to embark on these side activities.
Completing the final lesson is what you want, though. This will not only grant you each mentor’s unique ultimate ability, but you’ll also get a large sum of experience, as well, helping you to level up quickly.
Do note that the amount of experience you earn is related to when the mentor became available. Early mentors like Krillin and Piccolo will not give as much experience as, say, Vegeta or Frieza.
Challenging Parallel Quests
Parallel Quests make a return in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and serve the same purpose as they did in the first game. These battles and other objectives exist in a history that is parallel to the normal Dragon Ball timeline, so you’ll have the opportunity to play events where villains are heroes, different enemies attack, or you’ll have more odds stacked against you. You can unlock plenty of gear here, as well, but it’s a great way to earn experience to level up quickly… as long as you only focus on the harder ones.
The 1-4 star challenges will help you out a little bit when you’re first starting off, but once you’re around level 30 or 40, you’re going to want to focus on six and seven star quests.
Time Rift Events
Time Rift Quests are the largest sources of experience in the game, oftentimes leveling you up with just one completion. Each of the five time rifts – Hercule’s House, Capsule Corporation, Majin Buu’s House, Frieza’s Spaceship, and Guru’s House – has a quest giver that you’ll want to talk to in order to progress that rift’s story, earn rewards, and unlock the secret Time Eggs.
The two areas that give the most experience from what we’ve noticed so far are Guru’s House (particularly when you’re doing Nail’s 6-7 star missions), and Frieza’s Spaceship. Once you make it up to Frieza’s own missions. you’ll get upwards of 18,000 experience points each time, helping you to level up quickly as you work to complete the main story.
As long as you keep rotating these four methods, you’ll find yourself hitting higher levels in no time. I was personally able to reach past level 50 in just one day, without even progressing half the story, so you can make a lot of progress, too.
