It’s only day one of the first seasonal event for Overwatch, but Blizzard have already suffered from an attack on their servers, rendering the game unplayable for many users across PS4, Xbox One and PC in North America and Europe.

The hacker group known as Poodlecorp has claimed responsibility for the attack on Battle.net, and appears to be making demands on Twitter to satisfy before they bring the servers back up.

This issue is also affecting players trying to log in to World of Warcraft, Diablo III and other Blizzard IPs.
Blizzard promises to be working to solve the situation, and will keep players updated via its Twitter account and website.

This hack comes on the same day that the studio just released a new update for Overwatch, which provides a ton of free content themed around the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Just recently, Blizzard banned a high number of users across Battle.net in order to fight cheating and hacking of their software, but it looks as though the company still remain vulnerable to DDOS’s such as this one.
Stick around with Twinfinite for more news on this story as it arrives.
