Microsoft has confirmed when Xbox One and PC owners will be able to use their recently announced “Play Anywhere” feature, which allows gamers to purchase one copy certain games and play them on either device, complete with cross-saving and cross-platform achievements.

Speaking to Polygon, the company revealed that “Play Anywhere” will launch on Tuesday, September 13th this year.

If you plan on using the free service, however, make sure you have downloaded the Windows 10 Anniversary update on your PC, which will be available next month, on August 2nd. You’ll also need your Xbox One to be fully updated, naturally, including the Summer update set to arrive shortly.

Microsoft announced the new feature at their E3 press conference in Los Angeles last month, and have already revealed a wealth of titles set to be compatible with the service.

The announced games so far are Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, ReCore, Sea of Thieves, Halo Wars 2, Scalebound, Killer Instinct Season 3, State of Decay 2, Ark: Survival Evolved, Cuphead, We Happy Few, and Crackdown 3.

Games that support Play Anywhere will include an official icon in the online store.
