The Heart of Liberty City

Recommended Videos

No matter what you say about Grand Theft Auto IV, you can’t argue that the game had a lot of heart and some cool Easter eggs. If players look around they might see the Statue of Happiness, a reference to the real Statue of Liberty, whose smile hides a secret.

There is a platform on the statue’s pedestal, right by the feet, which you can only reach by using a helicopter. Find the door to the south that has a sign saying, “No Hidden Content This Way,” and then climb up the ladder inside. At the top will be a chained-up, beating heart that cannot not be destroyed.

Where is Nicole!?

Spoiler Alert for Dead Space

Isaac Clark is sent to the Ishimura in order to repair the broken space ship and to find his lost girlfriend who worked on board. Little does he know that he is about to enter literal hell as the ship has been taken over by these creatures that have been killing everyone. Throughout the game the player has been trying to find out what happens to Nicole and where she could be. Yet, if you paid attention to the first letter of all the chapters you would see that it spells out, “Nicole Is Dead.”

Talk about spelling it out for people.

Mega Man X Meets Street Fighter

If you think you have mastered Mega Man X after beating all the bosses then you might want to try going after this little Easter egg. Once you get all the heart tanks, all the sub tanks, and all the weapons, head back to the armadillo stage. Take a short ride on the platform where you will have the dash jump onto a ledge at the end of the ride. You must have full health, so get the full health that is there then jump into the pit and die.

If you do this correctly three times, then on the fourth time you will see a upgrade capsule where a hologram of Dr. Light dressed as Ryu will give you the Hadouken upgrade. You have to be at full health in order to use it but that handicap is worth it once you try out the famous fireball move from Street Fighter.

Psychonauts Throws A Killer Party

One level in Psychoanuts takes place in the mind of Milla, in which players can be trained in levitation or watch people dance around. If you feel like exploring, then you may come across a room that is like a child’s playroom. In it will be a safe running around and a toy chest. Punch the safe and you’ll get a picture book that shows Milla’s past life where she took care of orphans. Those kids sadly died in a house fire, and if you jump into the chest you’ll see how Milla is haunted by the voices of children asking, “Why did you let us die,” or screaming for help.

This might actually give you nightmares but the bright side is that you get an achievement for it.

Metal Gear Solid V and The Radio

Some Silent Hills fans might find some joy in knowing that PT continues to live on in Easter eggs throughout Metal Gear Solid V. Once you make it to the Africa map, you’ll want to check out a tent at guard post #17 not far from the hill heading towards Ngumba Industrial Zone. If you listen carefully, you can hear a radio playing the recorded news announcement that was used in PT. There are a few other Easter eggs about PT throughout the game and the man himself, Kojima making an appearance.

PT might have been canceled but it will forever live in the hearts of fans and MGSV.

What Came First? The Chicken or The Egg?

In Gauntlet Dark Legacy, you will run across a chicken – a magically enchanted chicken that can breath fire and happens to be named Pojo. You can actually become this character if you use his eggs for a little while. To become this character permanently, start up a new save file and put POJO in the name slot. Congrats! You’re now a fire breathing chicken for the rest of the game.

Hello Operator?

If you ever get stuck on Monkey Island 2 in Dinky Island jungle, you can always call for help. On one of the trees you’ll find a call box where the character will dial 1-900-740-JEDI. Calling this number will bring you to the LucasArts support line for hints about the game. From how to get out of this jungle to the real meaning of the game, you will not receive much help, but it is still pretty funny. The voice character for the support line even nailed that “doesn’t get paid enough” tone.

Come On and Slam!

NBA Jam doesn’t just have any old Easter eggs, it actually has a bunch of secret characters you can use to play. From the arcade version to the Xbox 360, this can be considered a long standing tradition as more and more secret players have been added, including the Clintons and Benny the Bull. Depending on what system you have, you might have to enter codes or mash different buttons in a certain order in order to unlock these characters.

The Insomniac Museum

Throughout a couple of Ratchet and Clank games, players might stumble upon the Insomniac Museum. From Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando, Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal, and Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack In time, it’s safe to say that the museum is a recurring theme. Wherever it appears, the museum shows off things that got cut out of the games, from enemies to old ships.

Best Easter Egg

Grand Theft Auto games are known for having some interesting Easter eggs, from Thelma and Louise in Grand Theft Auto V to the beating heart in Grand Theft Auto IV, but there is one that definitely takes the cake.. Or the egg? It’s literally an egg found near the Vice City News (VCN) building located in downtown that says Happy Easter. It’s not hidden because the player only has to jump through one window in order to find it but it is a great find.
