The Oculus Rift has already gained a solid following, with its pre-orders selling out 14 minutes after appearing. When the virtual reality headset launches on March 28, there will be 30 games available for all Rift owners.
The previously confirmed Lucky’s Tale and EVE: Valkyrie are still included with the headset for free. Games like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Project CARS and Elite Dangerous have already launched, but will be officially compatible with the Rift as well. A new preview video highlights a few of March’s launch games.
The full list of launch games is a mix of platforming games, first-person horror and updated VR versions of games already released. Palmer Luckey has confirmed that Oculus Rift will have 100 games by the end of 2016, and launching with 30 makes that figure seem very plausible.
The updated Oculus Home feature will also be available on the Rift on March 28. It’s a hub similar to the Xbox Live Dashboard that allows players to buy games and interact with friends in VR. An image of the updated Home was shown as a preview, and it’s likely that users can explore this entire space to interact with the icons.
The Oculus Rift will launch on March 28 for $599. Which of the 30 launch titles are you looking forward to playing? Let us know in the comments.
