Far Cry Primal: All Weapons Wiki Guide

You must choose the right tool to kill them.

Ranged Weapons in Far Cry Primal

weapons

There are three different ranged weapons in Far Cry Primal, and each one serves its purpose. Though there are only three, you won’t feel at a loss. They are potent enough to cause enemies to think twice about poking their heads out.

Bow

The Bow is your basic weapon, capable of executing sharp headshots at a moderate distance. It may be one of the first weapons, but you’ll find yourself relying on this tool a majority of the time. It fires relatively quickly, and is steady on the draw, more so than weapons like the spear. It doesn’t have the best of range, leaving long-distance sniping out of the question, but you’ll be able to work magic with this one. Upgrading this weapon gives you a much higher fire rate, not too shabby for the Stone Age.

Long Bow

The Long Bow is the big brother of the standard Bow with increased damage and maximum range. It also has a bit more zoom when aiming down the sights. It isn’t the quickest weapon, but it’s supposed to be used at a distance. You should have ample time to fire off a few shots into a charging enemy. You can craft this weapon once you recruit Jayma to your village.

Double Bow

This weapon is as fast as the standard Bow and shares its range. The major difference (and advantage) of the Double Bow is that it fires off two arrows at once. To get this amazing trick weapon, you’ll need to upgrade Jayma’s hut to level 2.

Sling

The sling takes Far Cry Primal’s rock throwing ability and steps it up a notch. Now you can kill enemies by hitting them in the head with a rock (which are unlimited by the way). You can also send rocks further to provide a more long distance distraction. No more just throwing rocks right in front of you.

Melee Weapons in Far Cry Primal

There are three melee weapons in Far Cry Primal, and they all do a lot of damage. These are perfect for hunting large prey, or dealing with armored enemies. All of them can be thrown if need be, just remember to retrieve them from the ground or your opponent’s corpse.

Club

The Club is your standard melee tool. Short reach, but has big power. Throwing this weapon won’t do tons of damage, but will stun you enemy. You can upgrade the Club to increase its speed. durability, and damage.

Two-Handed Club

Now this is a melee weapon. Just like the standard Club this weapon can hit multiple enemies in a single swing, and delivers crushing blows. It is a lot slower, so you have to lead your swings, or have them charged up before reaching your enemy. The Two-Handed Club also ditches the stun effect when thrown in favor of killing.

Spear

The Spear hurts. A lot. It is useful at keeping enemies at bay and for fighting off large predators. It is at its best when thrown, though. Two headshots with one of these can take out a Mammoth, and that’s without being completely upgraded.

Throwable Weapons in Far Cry Primal

Sometimes you need something that you can just toss out really fast without having to worry too much about precision. Other times you just want to throw a small blade across a long field and watch as it sticks an opponent in the eye. No matter which type of player you are, you’ll find something that suits your style.

Stone Shard

This is your basic throwing knife. It’s a sharp piece of rock bound with animal hide. Hitting an enemy in their un-shielded head will kill them in one hit. You can upgrade the Stone Shard to penetrate most masks. You will be able to craft this handy little weapon once you recruit Wogah.

Berserk Shard

Instead of killing your enemies, the Berserk Shard does the next best thing. It causes your foes to go mad and attack their own allies. Hitting a sniper or one of the more formidable enemy types with this is an easy way to clear a bonfire or outpost.

Sting Bomb

Filled with bees, these grenades are deadly. They’ll take out weaker enemies with ease, but they’ll serve as a useful distraction against stronger opponents, including powerful beasts. Just make sure that you aren’t standing nearby when this bomb detonates. The bees will move onto any close living being, including you.

Berserk Bomb

Once you clear the Udam Fort, you’ll be able to recruit Dah. Doing so will allow you to craft this bomb that drives any enemies in its blast crazy. Just sit back and watch the mayhem.

Fire Bomb

The Fire Bomb is exactly what you’d expect it to be. A pot of fire that will ignite any enemy or animal caught in its blast. Perfect for setting enemy posts on fire and raising hell.

Kapala Shard

This weapon is only obtainable through the Ubisoft Club rewards. It works exactly like the Stone Shard, only it’s made out of bone. If you have Uplay points from another game, I strongly recommend unlocking this reward immediately as it provides a very useful tool well before you unlock the other throwables.

These are all the weapons you’ll have at your disposal, along with your wit and will. Good luck out there in Far Cry Primal, you’re going to need it. If you need help with any other aspects of this game’s cruel world, be sure to check out our expanding wiki guide.
