Much like we reported earlier this week with Devil’s Third, Bayonetta 2 has become another Wii U exclusive title that is becoming very rare to find at retail stores or online for its manufacturer’s suggested retail price. However, this time it isn’t due to stocking shortages, and instead because the title is going out of print.
If you perform a quick search at online retailers that you’d expect to sell the game, you won’t have much luck securing the title.
Although GameStop.com has the game listed below its MSRP at $38.97, the option to buy a new copy was not available. Similarly, a quick search for any stores within a 100-mile radius that might be carrying the title left us empty-handed as well. This applies to both new and used copies.
Purchasing Bayonetta 2 at Amazon.com will only be possible from third-party sellers. The cheapest price for a new copy is currently $89.99, while the cheapest for a used copy is $69.00.
Bayonetta 2 released on October 24, 2014. Retail copies have come packaged with its predecessor, Bayonetta, as an added bonus. You can always buy the game on the Nintendo eShop for $59.99, however buying it digitally will not get you the first game as well; you’ll have to purchase them separately. So, if you’re fortunate enough to find Bayonetta 2 lying around a retail store somewhere, maybe you should consider picking it up!
