Nintendo’s multiplayer shooter Splatoon was a surprise hit, being their first new franchise in many years. The game has evolved into a legitimate competitive title, and Nintendo is recognizing this by hosting a Splatoon tournament in the Nintendo Treehouse this Wednesday.
The Splatournament is a six team double elimination tournament, and the teams will be composed of Nintendo Treehouse employees. Nintendo of America tweeted out a bracket showing that the tournament will cover all of the game’s different modes.
In addition to showing off some competitive Splatoon gameplay, Nintendo will also give viewers tips on how to run their own tournament.
The Splatournament begins Dec. 2 at 11 a.m. Pacific/2 p.m. Eastern. The entire tournament will be streamed live on Nintendo’s YouTube, Twitch.tv page, and Nintendo’s own streaming portal.
