It has been confirmed through an official statement released by Koei Tecmo Games that Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will not get a North American release.
“The comments made by an employee regarding DEAD OR ALIVE XTREME 3 on the official DEAD OR ALIVE Facebook page only reflect that individual’s opinion and not the opinion or business strategy of Koei Tecmo Games.” the statement issued early Tuesday morning read.
However, the statement also confirmed that the game “is still planned for release in Japan and Asia only.” The full statement can be read below.
Controversy began after an employee took to the company’s official Facebook page to respond to questions about whether or not Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will be released in North America. The, since deleted, Facebook post read, “We do not [sic] bring DoAX3 to the West and won’t have any plan change [sic] in the future. Thank you for asking.”
The employee continued in a response, “Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female [sic] in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision. Thank you.”
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will release in Japan and Asia on February 25, 2016 and will be available on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
