Wolverine on Watch

Recommended Videos

Reddit user brady8807 has really shown us up with this incredible settlement. When Fallout 4 was first shown off and we saw the light art of Vault- Boy we knew there would be some incredible user creations. Brady8807’s Wolverine is by far our favorite that we’ve seen so far, proudly stood watching the main gate leading into the Sanctuary-based settlement. When you head inside, brady has decked his settlement out with a huge main house to live in, a tree deck lounge and a fairly substantial generator room to power it all. It’s not like the mansion of a house is bare inside either, with a living area and pool room to boot.

We’ll just keep on building our one room shack with a TV and bed in it, shall we. You can check out the whole image gallery of his settlement here.

The Sanctuary Shanty Town

FredtheBeard took a different route with Sanctuary and rather than completely renovate the entire thing, focused on building a rather real-life shanty town right in the center. Something particularly impressive of this build is that FredtheBeard states he hasn’t used the Unlimited Size mod that other users have been enabling in order to create some huge settlements.

Instead, Fred filled the settlement size bar to 95% and built some amazing layered buildings, decorated to feel just like home. The settlement has a total of twelve houses, with four prefabricated added in for good measure, and are stacked similarly to a real life favela. Not only does the truly cramped feeling of a favela shine through with the tiny pathways etching their way through between houses, the suspended bridges linking some of the 2nd story shanty houses really make this feel like a unique shanty town in Fallout 4. You can check out the full gallery here.

Sanctuary Hills

We tried to take a screenshot of Reddit user Rock–Lee’s settlement, but it just doesn’t do it justice. The video tour of his settlement however really emphasizes how much time and effort was put into perfecting one of the most livable settlements we’ve stumbled upon.

As we’re guided past the shops of the settlement and some the Brahmin pen with troughs to keep them well fed, you start to get an idea of how much thought has been put into a sustainable living area. Heading behind the house that originally housed your power armor frame, you find a thriving farm full of crops and our first glance at some pretty heavy looking defenses too. The main house and its multitude of floors are the star of the show here, however. With the open-air basketball court and decking area full of refreshment machines and sun chairs, this is a 5* wasteland resort for any lucky settler.

The Refurbished Castle

thelordonhigh opted to completely rebuild and renovate the castle settlement that can be obtained in the game by progressing through quests for the Minutemen. First things first, thelordonhigh does mention that he’s filled up the size bar three times over, so unless you’ve got the mod enabled on PC, this isn’t going to be achievable.

We’re not sure how much time thelordonhigh put into this settlement, but the sheer size of this settlement warrants its entry onto this list. Whether it’s the number of huge turbines powering the settlement situated on the walls, the maze of suspended bridges connecting the upper levels of buildings, or the fully decorated interior, this settlement is a true comfort from home.

As day turns to night, a network of lamps fills the settlement with a calming ambient glow. This is a true paradise hidden in the wasteland. You can stare in awe at this settlement here.

A Sanctuary Power- House

We really liked Reddit user UMPick24’s Fallout 4 Sanctuary settlement. The first thing that will most likely grab your attention in the above image is the huge glowing structure on the top of the building on the left. Taking the visual tour through a series of images taken around the settlement, we get an idea as to the sheer scale of the settlement.

Of course, a large-scale settlement needs a lot of resources to remain sustainable. Well, glancing through the photos of the farm, wind turbines, large generators and water purifiers, you begin to get the feeling that resources will never be an issue here. With a sniper’s perch placed on the very top of the player home, a power armor suit room, sleeping quarters complete with storage trunks underneath the bed, and suspended bridges snaking their way across the settlement, UMPiCK24 has really thought of everything.

Fallout 4 has only been out for a week and these huge, fully realized settlements have already been created. In the same amount of time, we’ve got the odd Melon plant lying around, built a square shack on the roof of Red Rocket Diner, and got a Brahmin stuck in our settler’s home. We think we’ll leave the settlement building to the pros. Have you spotted or built a settlement that we may have missed on our searches? Share it with us in the comments below.
